On this day in 1910, Cleveland Naps pitcher Cy Young won his 500th career game, defeating the Washington Senators.

On this day in 2011, Colorado Rockies first baseman Jason Giambi hit three homers in a 7-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.  The feat made the 40-year-old the second-oldest player to hit three homers in a game.  Stan Musial also achieved the feat in 1962 at the age of 41.

NBA

On this day in 2009, the Los Angeles Clippers won the NBA Draft lottery, receiving the first round pick for the first time since 1998.

NHL

On this day in 1974, the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Boston Bruins to win the Stanley Cup.

Horse Racing

On this day in 1973, the Secretariat won the Preakness Stakes.  The Thoroughbred would go onto win the Triple Crown.

On this day in 2007, Curlin won the Preakness Stakes.
