I didn’t do well with my Pac-12 picks last week, missing on five games which is something I don’t think I did at all last year, but I do feel better about this week.
There are not many good games in the Pac-12 this week with the one exception being the Oregon-Michigan State game, which is probably the game of the week in college football.
Here’s my Pac-12 Week 2 Picks:
Friday, September 11
13 Utah State at #24 Utah 35
Saturday, September 12
17 Oregon State at Michigan 28
7 Sacramento State at Washington 41
27 Massachusetts at Colorado 31
21 Washington State at Rutgers 35
21 San Diego State at California 40
41 #22 Arizona at Nevada 17
10 Idaho at #8 USC 48
45 #13 UCLA at UNLV 16
6 UCF at Stanford 27
10 Cal Poly at Arizona State 45
35 #7 Oregon at #5 Michigan State 38
Oregon had no problems with the Spartans in Eugene last year, beating them 46-27 with Marcus Mariota leading the charge. Mariota is now in the NFL and Oregon will look to get the same production out of Eastern Washington transfer Vernon Adams. Both teams struggled in their week 1 games against inferior competition. The Michigan State defense shut down Oregon in the first half last year, but the Ducks had their way with the Spartans in the second half. Michigan State has seven returning starters on defense while Oregon lost the talented Mariota. The Spartans will look to control the clock with their running game and I feel like the defense will be good enough to stop the high-powered Oregon offense on a few drives.
