Pac-12 Week 5 Picks: Will Cal Remain Unbeaten?

There’s only four games in the Pac-12 this week with all four games being meaningful ones. Cal will look to improve to 5-0 and head into Utah undefeated next week, while UCLA will try and remain unbeaten and possibly jump into the top 5. Oregon will look to show the nation that they’re still a top 25 team and Stanford’s offense will try and continue their offensive explosion.

Here are my Pac-12 Week 5 Picks:

Saturday, October 3

24 Washington State at #24 California 42

Jared Goff might be the best quarterback and all of college football and should continue to add on to his stat sheet this weekend, as the Golden Bears get ready to face Utah next week.

21 Arizona State at #7 UCLA 38

Its fair to say that Arizona State was the most overrated team this preseason and the Sun Devils have now disappeared from the top 25. UCLA on the other hand looks like the favorite in the Pac-12 and have the best freshman quarterback in the country in Josh Rosen. I’ll take the Bruins by 17 points.

52 Oregon at Colorado 21

This is the first game that Oregon has been unranked in since 2009, with the Ducks streak coming to an end last week after 98 consecutive weeks of being ranked. Luckily for them the toughest part of their schedule is over and now they have a chance to start a new streak in the coming weeks. It will all start at Colorado where the Ducks should have no issues blowing out the Buffaloes.

21 Arizona at #18 Stanford 37

The Stanford offense has looked impressive the past three weeks after a rough start to the season against Northwestern. Arizona was finally hit with reality last week against UCLA and that Wildcats team is not worthy of a top 25 ranking. Fortunately for them they’ll have an opportunity to prove themselves on the big stage. At the end of the day I think the Wildcats keep it close, but Stanford is too powerful for Arizona to overcome.
