This is a big week in the Pac-12 with #23 Cal traveling to take on #5 Utah. The winner will be the front-runner to represent the conference in the College Football Playoff. Arizona will also look to get their first conference win of the season.
Here are my Pac-12 Week 6 Picks:
Thursday, October 8
21 Washington at #17 USC 34
USC coach Steve Sarkisian will face his old team for the first time on Thursday night. Sarkisian led the Huskies to a victory both times he faced his current team. The Trojans offensive line will play a major role in the game and should have no issues keeping the Washington defense out of the backfield. Ronald Jones II should easily rush for over 100 yards.
Saturday, October 10
17 Oregon State at Arizona 27
Arizona’s passing game has been almost non-existent, but the team sure can run the ball and that should be no different when the Beavers come to town.
27 Washington State at Oregon 45
Oregon is not the same team that they’ve been in the past, but they’re still a very effective offensive team with an ability to rack up the points. Washington State is an average team at best and I fully expect the Ducks to put this one in the win column.
21 Colorado at Arizona State 41
Arizona State is coming off a huge upset over UCLA and will look to climb back into the top 25 with a win against the Buffaloes.
34 #23 California at #5 Utah 28
I like to make one major upset pick each week and I think this game is the most interesting one of the them all. Cal has been living close to the edge lately, beating Texas, Washington and Washington State by an average of four points. While Utah has probably been the most complete teams West of the Mississippi using their stout defense, a strong rushing attack and one of the best special teams in the country. Utah will have a tough task stopping the best quarterback in the nation in Jared Goff. I think Goff has a big game and the Golden Bears play their first complete game of the season and pull out the win.
