Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy announced on Tuesday that the team has lost wide receiver Jordy Nelson for the entire season.
Nelson was injured in the Packers preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday and an MRI confirmed that the star receiver has a significant knee injury.
Nelson caught 98 passes for 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.
Randall Cobb will continue to play slot for Green Bay and Davante Adams will have an opportunity to make a name for himself, as he’s expected to be the lead candidate to take over Nelson’s spot.
