The Tampa Bay Rays have activated lefty Drew Smyly from the disabled list and have optioned Kirby Yates to Triple-A Durham to clear a spot on the roster. Smelly will start Sunday’s game against the Texas Rangers.

Smyly partially tore his labrum in his left shoulder in early May and hasn’t pitched since then. He owns a 2.70 ERA in three starts this season and has been spectacular for the Rays since they acquired him in the David Price trade last summer.
