Red Sox Manager John Farrell Diagnosed with Stage 1 Lymphoma

Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell has been diagnosed with lymphoma and will not finish the season as the team’s manager.

Farrell will begin chemotherapy on Tuesday at Massachusetts General Hospital.  He said that he went for a hernia surgery and the cancer was detected during the procedure.

Farrell managed the 2013 Boston team that won the World Series.  Bench coach Torey Lovullo will manage the team for the rest of the season.
