Boston Red Sox top pitching prospect Henry Owens will make his major league debut on Tuesday against the Yankees, according to Brian McPherson of the Providence Journal. Owens will take Rick Porcello‘s place in the Boston rotation.
The 23-year-old southpaw has been great in Triple-A Pawtucket this season, posting a 3.16 ERA in 122 1/3 inning. We rated Owens as the 32nd overall prospect earlier this year and the number one prospect in the Red Sox farm system.
