Highly touted freshman quarterback Ricky Town has requested to transfer from USC after spending just a few months on campus, according to Demetric Warren of VarsityPreps.com. Town was ranked as the number six pro-style quarterback in the class of 2015 on 247Sports. The report also said that USC coach Steve Sarkisian has verbally granted the request.
The 18-year-old originally committed to Alabama in January 2014, but later decommitted and ended up signing with the Trojans.
There was plenty of competition at quarterback for USC with Cody Kessler returning as the starter and redshirt sophomore Max Browne will most likely take the reigns in 2016.
We don’t know the reason behind the transfer, but we do know Town was having his fair share of struggles.
