Robert Tyler’s Scouting Report

Tyler missed most of the 2015 season with a strained forearm and didn’t have a great season statistically, but the right-hander is still a solid prospect with a sinking fastball and a nasty curveball. The biggest issue with Tyler is his delivery, which is the main reason he was injured last season. He seems to put too much stress on his arm and could open his hips and use the rest of his body, which could help prevent another injury scare.

Strengths

  • Plus sinking fastball
  • Above average changeup
  • Good K per nine inning rate

Weaknesses

  • Needs to improve his command
  • Needs to improve his mechanics

Changeup:  MPH
Slider:  MPH
Curveball:  MPH
