Royals to Acquire Johnny Cueto from Reds

The Kansas City Royals have acquired Johnny Cueto from the Cincinnati Reds, according to Ken Rsoenthal of FOX Sports. The teams have yet to confirm.  John Lamb is expected to be one of the prospects going to the Reds, according to Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports.

Brandon Finnegan is another name that could be going to Cincinnati, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

Mark Sheldon of MLB.com is reporting that there’s nothing to report at this time involving Cueto.

John Fay is reporting that the Reds are still working on medical reports.  Fay also reports that manager Bryan Price also told reporters that there has been no movement on a deal.

Update: The trade is official with Cueto going to the Royals and the Reds receiving Finnegan, Lamb and Cody Reed.

The 29-year-old Cueto has posted a 2.62 ERA in 130 2/3 innings this season, and has a record of 7-6. Cuteo has also struggled to get run support, with his team only giving him 3.42 runs per game, which is the 18th lowest in baseball this season.
