Oklahoma running back Samaje Perine has without a doubt been one of the best freshman in the country this season. Perine proved to everyone how good he is, breaking Melvin Gordon record for rushing yards in a single game. Gordon had set the record last week breaking LaDainian Tomlinson record of 406 yards in a game. Tomlinson record took 15 years to break and I expected that Gordon record would last longer than a week. Perine ran for 427 yards on 34 carries and added five touchdowns to that. Perine might have just worked his way into the Heisman conversation, but I doubt he will win this year. He will most likely be the favorite at the start of next season. The weather conditions in Norman were pretty rough and I can’t believe that Perine was able to do what he did.
