The San Francisco Giants have announced that they’ve designated righty Erik Cordier for assignment. Cordier was just reinstated from the disabled list after suffering a forearm strain before the season.
The 29-year-old made his debut last season, pitching six innings and giving up one earned run on five hits. He did have an issue with his command, hitting three batters. He also had a high strikeouts per nine inning rate at 13.5.
