Arizona linebacker Scooby Wright III will miss “three to four weeks” after undergoing a procedure to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee. He injured the knee in the Wildcats Thursday win over UTSA.
Coach Rich Rodriguez said Wright will travel with the team until he recovers. The Wildcats are hoping to have him back in time for their Pac-12 opener against UCLA on September 26.
Wright is considered one of the better defensive players in the country and we currently have him ranked as the number five outside linebacker in the 2016 NFL Draft.
He finished the 2014 season with a nation leading 164 tackles and 31 tackles for loss. He also had 15 sacks to go with that.
