SEC Power Rankings Week 15

SEC Power Rankings Week 15

The week of the regular season in the SEC was a great one, with Alabama beating Auburn in one of the best games of the season.   Tennessee became bowl eligible and four East teams lost to ACC teams.  Ole Miss won the Egg Bowl, beating Mississippi State 31-17, which eliminated Mississippi State from playoff contention.  That leaves Alabama as the only hope for an SEC team to make the playoffs this season.

Nothing changed in my top four this week and I continue to support Missouri as the number two team in the SEC.  The Tigers are still getting a lot of slack from their non-conference loss against Indiana.  I think that loss changed Missouri and showed them that they have to show up every week no matter who they’re playing.  Missouri won the East and deserves to be number two in the SEC this week.

Vanderbilt lost nine games (which is how many games they won last season) this season, finishing last in the SEC.
