Tommy Hanson Agrees to Minor League Deal with Giants

The San Francisco Giants have agreed to a minor league deal with right-handed pitcher Tommy Hanson, according to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Hanson, 28, has a career ERA of 3.80 with a record of 49-35 in five big league seasons. The former Brave and Angel hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2013. He was non-tendered by the Angels in 2013. Hanson agreed to contracts with the Texas Rangers and Chicago White Sox in 2014, being released by the Rangers and playing for the White Sox Triple-A affiliate to finish out the season.

It will be interesting to see what the Giants decide to do with him since Matt Cain and Jake Peavy have both been sidelined with injuries.
