Twins Sign Torii Hunter

Torii Hunter has signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal with the Minnesota Twins. Hunter started his career with the Twins in 1997 and played there until 2007. Hunter contract will contain a full no-trade clause, meaning he cannot be traded to any team.

This will be Hunter last season in my opinion, and this signing is proof with him going back to his former team.

Torii Hunter is a nine-time Gold Glove winner, but he hasn’t won the award since 2009, which was best season as a professional. Hunter won the Silver Slugger in 2009 and 2013.

Hunter hit .286 last season with 17 home runs and 83 RBIs. Hunter has only got better with age and I fully expect that to continue in 2015.

I love this move by the Twins, they sign a quality veteran to a one-year deal and Hunter will provide great leadership to a very young team.
