The Minnesota Twins will promote top prospect Miguel Sano prior to tomorrow’s game against the Kansas City Royals, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.
Sano, 22, will mostly likely be the replacement for Kennys Vargas, who was optioned to Double-A today. Sano is a power-hitting third baseman, who has 105 career homers in five season in the minor leagues. He had a slash of .274/.374/.544 to go with 15 homers and 48 RBIs for Double-A Chattanooga this season.
Sano is the number ten prospect on the Fueled by Sports Top 50. He’s ranked 13th on Baseball America, 11th on MLB.com and 12th on Baseball Prospectus.
