The Chicago White Sox have designated Hector Noesi for assignment and have called up Scott Carroll from Triple-A Charlotte.
Noesi, 28, pitched 32 2/3 innings for the White Sox this season, posting a 6.89 ERA and going 0-4. He lost his spot in the rotation to Carlos Rodon, who was the number three pick in the 2014 draft.
Carroll, 30, has pitched 17 1/3 innings this season for the Sox, posting a 3.12 ERA and striking out seven.
