Who will have a better 2017 season? Will it be Mike Trout or Mookie Betts? Both players are coming off tremendous seasons, with Trout winning the MVP and Betts finishing in a close second. We currently have the two players ranked first and second on our 2017 MLB Player Rankings.
Trout hit .315/.441/.550 last year with 30 stolen bases, 29 home runs and 100 RBIs. He also finished with a 10.6 WAR (rare in the modern era) and an OPS+ of 174.
Betts got off to a slow start and had a great second half of the season, but his struggles early probably cost him the MVP award. He finished with a slash of .318/.363/.534 with 26 stolen bases, 31 home runs and 133 RBIs. He also had an OPS+ of 131 and a 9.6 WAR.
