Will Benson’s Scouting Report
No one was really talking about Benson before his performance at USA Baseball’s Tournament of the Stars. Benson generates elite bat speed with power potential and above average contact skills. He’ll definitely remind a lot of people of Jason Heyward and while that may be a lazy comparison, it’s probably the proper one at this point in his development. He does need to refine his plate approach and work on his balance at the plate. He also tends to pull everything and will need to work on using all fields, but the sky is the limit for the Georgia native.
Strengths
- Plus power potential
- Above average contact potential
- Plus arm
- Above average glove
- Good speed
Weaknesses
- Plate approach
- Needs to work on using all fields

Where could Benson end up in the draft?
Benson’s ceiling is probably the Padres at 25 with the Braves at 44 being his floor. Right now I could see the Cardinals taking the outfielder at 34.
