The New York Yankees have re-signed first baseman/outfielder Garrett Jones, according to Jack Curry of the YES Network. The Yankees designated Jones for assignment recently to make room for Dustin Ackley, who they acquired from the Mariners last week. The team needed to fill his roster spot after Ackley went on the DL.
The 34-year-old Jones is hitting .215/.257/.361 with five home runs and 17 RBIs this season.
