The New York Yankees have signed right-handed reliever Sergio Santos to a minor league deal, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. He’ll be heading to Double-A Trenton.
Santos, 31, was designated for assignment by the Dodgers and elected free agency. He pitched 13 1/3 innings for Los Angeles, posting a 4.73 ERA and giving up two homers.
The Yankees bullpen has been very good this season, with Andrew Miller and Dellin Betances both having an outstanding year. New York is searching for a replacement for David Carpenter, who the team designated for assignment last week.
