Zack Collins’ Scouting Report

Collins is a very powerful hitter and might have more power than any other player in the 2016 draft. He has unbelievable bat speed and a great approach at the plate. He also walks a lot and should provide incredible value to the middle of any team’s lineup. While Collins is great at the plate he isn’t the greatest fielder in the world, so his future might be in the American League as a DH.

Strengths

  • Plus power, has the potential to hit 30-plus home runs a season
  • Sound approach at the plate
  • Plus contact potential
  • Walks a lot

Weaknesses

  • Isn’t a great defender so his future might be as a DH, which limits him to the AL
  • Average arm at best
  • Strikes out too much
